W H Y  I  S T A R T E D  M Y  B L O G

If you read my post about why I don’t use Goodreads then you would know that I used to be an active reviewer there, but I stopped a few months ago.

Then, a few weeks ago, I felt bored, and I just finished a book I really wished I could review to others, but of course, I didn’t have any platform to review on. So that was when The Nerdy Novelty was born. I was fairly familiar with WordPress already because a lot of my Goodreads friends had blogs I followed!

Starting this blog was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. While posting can be a little bit time consuming, it’s extremely fun, and I can finally get all my bookish thoughts out!

A D V I C E  F O R  O T H E R S

I haven’t even blogged for a month yet, so I don’t really think I’m qualified to give advice, but whatever.

  1. Add a follow widget. For some reason it really bothers me when blogs don’t have follow buttons that are easily accessible. I would strongly suggest putting the button in an obvious place, and well, having one.
  2. Get yourself out there. Especially for other noobs at being a blogger like me, I would recommend following others. It’s a really great way for others to find your blog, and a way to make new friends.

    I agree with you about the follow widget and getting yourself out there. At first, the whole interactive aspect flew over my head but over time I really started reading posts and commenting and I’ve talked to so many great people because of it. It’s definitely an important and fun aspect. 😃
